Samuel Shield Mitchell, 82, of Baileyton, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Mitchell was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two brothers: John and Jimmy Mitchell; five sisters and two brothers-in-law: Mary Lou Ottinger, Margaret and Charles Kinser, Ann and Don Groves, Susie Seaton , and Brenda Norton; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew and caregiver, Ronnie Ottinger, and two special nieces, Brenda Mooneyham and Linda Hopkins; special friends: Shirley Ferguson, Randy and Sherry Renner, and Goldie Dunn; special adopted grandchildren: Samatha “Sammy Do” Dunn, Megan Dunn, and Amanda Caldwell; great grandchildren: Mason Dunn and Peyton Caldwell; and his special pet: Tiny.
He was the son of the late Herbert and Nola Mitchell and was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Carroll Mitchell, and one sister, Mabel LaFollette.
