She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. She was a member of the Bales Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Bales Chapel and Kingsley Avenue Freewill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Brown had a great love for her family, her church family, friends, and neighbors. She was retired from the ASCS (now FSA) office after 31 years of service. She was born April 8, 1930, the youngest of eight children to the late Roy and Mollie Britton of the Cross Anchor Community. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years: Doyle L Brown; one son and daughter-in-law: Billy (Bill) and Kim Brown; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one brother: John Britton of Jacksonville, FL; brother and sister-in-law: Robert (Bob) and Catherine Brown; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Brenda Sharpe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters: Sue Brown, Mildred Malone, Mae Harmon, Mary Malone; two brothers: Lionel Britton and Bill Britton; and a father-in-law and mother-in-law: Minnis and Allie Brown.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Dixie Kelley and Rev. Jim Fain officiating.
Interment will be held at Cross Anchor Cemetery at 2:00 pm Wednesday. Family and friends are asked to meet 1:00 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home to join in procession to the committal service.
Pallbearers will be: Doyle Morrison, Jason Brown, Charles Harmon, William Dunn, Mike Brown, Chad Malone and Chase Malone.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Bales Chapel Church and Kingsley Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.
