Margaret was a member of Clear Springs United Methodist Church, where she attended the Gleaners Guild Class as long as her health permitted.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Tammy and Charlie Barnes; six grandchildren and one grandson-in-law: April and Robert “Dink” Harmon of Greeneville, Amy Jeffers of the home, Timberly Barnes of Limestone, James Jeffers of Greeneville and fiancée Amber Willis of Fall Branch, Megan Hamilton and Elizabeth Barnes of Washington County; five great grandchildren: Heidi Harmon, Hunter and Micah Hamilton, Brayden and Alexis Barnes;two sisters: Francis Shelton and Betty Tipton of Greeneville; a brother: Jim Dennis Tipton of Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and several special friends of the Clear Springs Community and the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Coy Rex Nelson; a brother, David Tipton; a sister, Robbie Waddell; her mother and father, Ruby and Pink Tipton and a daughter, Linda Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Clear Springs United Methodist Church with Pastor Adam Love and Pastor Vince Krauss officiating. The body will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes preceding the service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery.
Her pallbearers are Dink Harmon, Tommy Dotson, Cody Melton, Neil Armstrong, Mike Tipton, Joe Bales, Robert Wayne Million, Richard Baskette, and Lanny Parman. Her honorary pallbearers are Chris Bowers, Bobby Campbell, James Keys, and members of Clear Springs United Methodist Church.
