She was a retired cook from South Greene High School where she worked for 24 years.
Mrs. Tarlton was the oldest member of Pine Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and Ray Morrison; a son and daughter-in-law: Scottie and Trixie Tarlton; three grandchildren and spouses: Shena Smith and husband, Billy; Melissa Kelley and husband, Mike; Aaron Tarlton and fiancé, Heather Ricker; special great grandchildren: Jeremiah, Zebulun, Tashawnna, and Latawna Smith; a sister-in-law: Betty Price; several nieces and nephews; special “adopted son and wife”: Bill and Bonnie Nance; and special friends: Elizabeth and Rosa Lee Tarlton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burel Tarlton; a great grandson, Bryan Tarlton; four brothers, Charles E., Jimmy, Bobbie, and Everette Ray Price; and three sisters, Maybelle Pardue, Margaret Marshall, and Earleene Morrison.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Lynn Hartsell and Rev. Jim Fain will officiate .
Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Pine Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kelley, Billy, Jeremiah and Zebulun Smith, Lonnie Bowman, and J. V. Tarlton, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy, Terry, and Jim Price, Lewis Pardue, Kenny and Bobby Morrison, Bill Nance, Jimmy Gregory, and Pat Wolfe.
The family will receive friends 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
