Patsy and I were sad to learn of Lanny’s passing. We both went to high school with him and he and I played tennis together. Our last memory of him is at one of our high school reunions. He had recently returned from Afghanistan and married. We enjoyed hearing his story. Our sympathy to his wife and family.

Lanny was always a good friend. I met him at Greeneville High and for two years we went to ETSU. I so remember seeing him many times at Bill Hodge’s dorm room where we shared stories. We also played tennis together in the GHS tennis team. He and his family lived just down the road from my wife, Marilyn, and family on Frances Drive in Greeneville. Lanny, you will be missed. Rest in Peace my good friend. 

Met Lanny in ‘64 shortly after we moved to Greeneville.   We had great times in high school and later at ETSU.   He introduced me via a blind date the woman who eventually became my wife 50 years ago.  Lanny was an excellent tennis player and I could always find him at the courts.   Lanny will be missed.  

I went to school and Sunday school with Lanny. He was always such a kind and sweet person. Our  family’s went to church together. We didn’t see each other after school and I always wondered where he went. I’m sure he grew into a very good man. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Rest In Peace my friend. Lanny was a good friend to our family as we were growing up and going to school together.  I hadn't seen him in many years but my brother kept me informed about him.  Rest in peace Lanny.

Lanny was 2 years ahead of me in school, and the first thing that pops into my mind, is a vision of him on the tennis courts at Greeneville High. At that time, they were located out beyond right field where we played baseball. The courts weren't that far from the old Rhea grocery. That is the way I will always remember Lanny since there were few tennis players at that time. I had not seen him in many years but remember him as one of the good guys.

Lanny & I grew up together.  He lived down the street. We went thru 12 years of school.
After military service he tried to get me to join his reserve unit. Sure enuff @ age 60+ he was called upon & sent to Afghanistan.  He looked great in that uniform. I am sure gonna miss my comrad. 

I’ve known the Parman family since I was a kid. Lanny was a dear friend and always had a smile on his face. Love and prayers for his family.
