He was a member of the House of the Lord Church.
He retired from MECO after over 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Nancy Griffin; children and spouses: Teresa and Robert Vest, Kermit and Lisa Griffin, Tommy Griffin, Janie and Chuck Lowe, Bert and Lynne Griffin; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Dorothy and Lynn Mercer and Mary Britton; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Ray and Barbara Griffin and Johnny Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son: Kenny Ray Griffin; a grandson: Jerome Barkum; parents: Claude and Ruby Griffin; and a brother: Fay Griffin.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ray Shelton and Rev. Lynn Mercer officiating.
Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Jeffers, Dustin Newton, Kendall Griffin, Quentin Taylor, Chuck Lowe, and Thomas Lowe.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
