He was the materials control manager at Delfort Group, formerly Mudet in Surgoinsville, Tennessee.
John was a long time member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, where he was active in all activities of the church.
He was an avid golfer and a dedicated Vols fan.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Elizabeth Joan Broyles; mother: Juanita Crystal of Delaware; a brother: Tommy Broyles of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister and brother-in-law: Carol Lee and John Poor of Florida; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law: Audra Booker and Joyce Reynolds, both of Greeneville; and a brother-in-law: Bill Booker and wife, Ann, of Johnson City.
He was the son of the late Lon Byrd Broyles and was preceded in death by a brother, Lon Byrd Broyles, Jr.; grandmother, Lizzie Broyles; brother-in-law, Paul Booker; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Crook and Ginger Cutshall.
The family will receive friends 3-7 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Byrd Broyles and Rev. Jeffrey Moncier officiating.
Interment will be at 11:00 am Wednesday in Philadelphia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the Men of Faith at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church.
Honorary Pallbearers are all of his friends.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
