James D. Catron

He was employed as an industrial engineer at both Magnavox and Berkline. After retirement, he worked at Walkers Supply in Morristown and returned to the family farm, where he pursued his life-long love of farming.

Mr. Catron was a member of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.

He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force in Selma, Alabama.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Edwina Hendry Catron; three sons and daughters-in-law: Craig and Tina Catron of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Chris and Gretchen Catron of Fairview, Tennessee, and Kent and Heidi Catron of Morristown; daughter: Jamie Catron Broyles of Salem, Virginia; eight grandchildren: Adam and spouse Joanie Catron of Rome, Georgia, Jacob Catron of Kennesaw, Georgia, Kendrick, Noah, and Addison Catron of Fairview, Tennessee, and Nathan, Nicholas, and Micah Catron of Morristown; great grandson: Merrik Catron of Rome, Georgia; sister: Peggy Catron Hardin of Mosheim; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: John and Martha Waddell of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Glenda Hendry Doty of Snellville, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late J.C. and Martha Solomon Catron and was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Tim Broyles.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church with Dr. Brian Wyatt officiating.

Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Cemetery.

His pallbearers will be Adam Catron, Jacob Catron, Bill Doty, Bob Doty, John Hardin, John Michael Hardin, Mike Waddell, and Rob Waddell.

The body is at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home where it will remain until time to be taken to the church 30 minutes preceding the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. It is requested that family and friends meet at the church for the funeral service.
