He went home to be with the Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member of Shelton Mission Church.
Preceding Hubert in death was his loving wife of 65 years, Betty.
He was born February 10, 1930 to the late Champ and Clarinda Riddle.
He retired from Magnavox after 44 years of service. He was of the Greystone Community. His children were blessed to have him as their dad and Christian leader in their lives. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda and Larry Mercer, Christine and Grandy Gray; a son and daughter-in-law: Rev. H. Wayne and Kathy Riddle; eight grandchildren: Becky and Billy Davis, Allen and Denise Mercer, Randy Lee Mercer, Bobby and Angie Jennings, Bradley Jennings, Josh and Alex Riddle, Brad and Heather Riddle, all of Greeneville, Jason and Vera Riddle of Hawaii; thirteen great grandchildren: Cody, Jared and Katie Jennings, Megan, Miranda and Melody Mercer, Dylan Mercer, Cameron Kiker, Trinity Faith Davis, Lucas and Addison Riddle, Elijah Blaine Lee Riddle “Little Hubert”, all of Greeneville, Mathias Riddle of Hawaii; a sister and brother-in-law: Bertie and Neal McGill; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Orvil and Phyllis Riddle, Jakie and Mary Lee Riddle; sisters-in-law: Janice Riddle and Rose Harrison, all of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
