He was a retired car salesman, business owner, and state employee.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was past Governor of the Moose Lodge; he was a member of Greeneville Lodge #3 of Free and Accepted Masons; he was a Shriner; and he was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Survivors include his daughter: Karen Susie Johnson; son and daughter-in-law: David and Tina White; grandchildren: Karri Johnson Carter and husband, Brad, Heather White, and Christian White; great grandchildren: Skylar Crisp and Xavier Tuggle; and great-great grandchild: Trevor Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene White; father, David Capps; former wife: Carolyn Noland White; and a son-in-law, Terry Lee Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tommy Pierce officiating.
Interment will be at 2pm Friday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1pm Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Herbert Crisp, Brad Carter, Bob Broadfoot, Danny Cutshall, Jody Foulks, and Jerry Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Bill, Ronnie, Terry, and Steve Noland, Art Hopson, J.B. Johnson, Bill Kelton, and Jerry Whitson.
