Brian was born at Clark AFB, Philippines and graduated from South Greene High School in 1980.
Brian enjoyed NASCAR racing, watching old westerns and Tennessee football.
Through the years, Brian worked at Laughlin Hospital, Lawson Chevrolet, and Mop Squad.
He is survived by his sister: Deborah Yates; brother and sister-in-law: Greg and Donna Yates; two nieces: Elizabeth and Emily Yates; nephew: Jackson Yates; special aunt: Linda Humphreys; aunt: Jill Nowlin; uncles and spouses: Ted and Vivian Humphreys and R.B. and Clara Humphreys; and numerous cousins.
He was the son of the late Elbert (Bert) and Bea Yates and was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa “Teri” Yates.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday from 5 – 7 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 7 pm in the Chapel of Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Leasure officiating.
The interment will be on Friday at 11 am in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home at 10:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff in ICU at Greeneville Community Hospital East and Dr. Prince and Dr. Patel for their kindness during his time at Greeneville Community Hospital East. Also, loving thanks to his cousin, Lisa Vine.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Yates, Chuck Humphreys, Brad Humphreys, Danny Humphreys, Caleb Pitt, and Hayley Crum.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dwayne Collins, Robbie Collins, Dustin Crum, Gary Vine, D.J. Nowlin, Don McMillian, Joe Boyd, Stanley Oliver, and David Oliver.
