Billy Sam Patton, 84, of Mosheim, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday on July 18th, 2022. Born on July 3rd, 1938, in Mosheim Sam was the son of the late Lacy and Sallie Patton. In 1960 he answered the call to serve his country in the US Army Reserves until 1965. In 1998 Sam retired from Greeneville Light and Power after 30 years of service. He said it took him 30 minutes to adjust to retirement. He served the Mosheim community as an Alderman for 9 years. He is loved by many in his community and had a heart for others. Driving a bus to help senior citizens get to church was just one way he served the Lord. He was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church. Sam’s love of horses is well known as he drove his horse and buggy in many parades over the years. And loved going to horse shows and visiting the Amish communities. Sam loved gospel music that told the story of God’s love and redemption. As one of his friends said, “he leaves behind a remarkable memory of a Godly man”. Without a doubt the Lord said “well done my good and faithful servant”.
