Mr. Keasling retired from the Greene County School System, having been the principal at McDonald Elementary. He was an assistant principal at West Greene and lastly as transportation supervisor.
He was a member of Bewley’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
He loved to travel, having visited all 50 states. He was an avid sports fan, especially liking the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee football and basketball
.
He enjoyed gardening.
He participated in the Senior Olympics for a number of years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years: Barbara Jean Waddell Keasling; daughter and son-in-law: Beth and Brad Forsythe; brother and sister-in-law: Tommy and Diane Keasling of Mosheim; sisters-in-law: Gladys Hamilton of Mohawk and Elizabeth Horne of Greeneville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Frank and Lucille Gillette of Greeneville and Thelma and Junior Wisecarver; and a great aunt: Mildred Boswell of Morristown.
He was the son of the late W.J. and Thelma Holt Keasling.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Phillips officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Alan Broyles, Craig White, Ned Cox, Alford Taylor, Jeff Wilson, and Mark Alan Broyles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Luttrell, Guyman Gregg, and Dr. Joe Austin.
