Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward “Nick” and Peggy Carter of Smyrna, TN; William R. Carter, Jr. and Keirn Carter of Chuckey, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law: Darleen and Jim Barfield of Merritt Island, FL; Mariann and Bruce Campbell of Titusville, FL; six grandsons: Jason Carter of Greeneville; Clifton Carter and spouse, Randi, of Chuckey; Seaton Carter of Chuckey; Carter Barfield of Martin, TN; Lt. Gordon Barfield of Fort Benning, GA; Ian Campbell of Titusville, FL; one granddaughter: Grace Colleen-Marie Campbell of Titusville, FL; great granddaughter: Lena Carter of Chuckey; three step granddaughters: Jennifer Roman of Nashville, Charlotte Hester and Erica Miller of Smyrna, TN; one step grandson: Christopher Miller of Madison, WI; seven step great grandchildren, five step great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Cline and Angeline Carter, Betty and Grant Hagen, Lila and Raymond Byington and Eva McClue; dear friends and cousins: Ralph and Billie Horne, Carl and Barbara Belcher, Steve and Frances Alexander, Johnny and Jane Hutton, Shirleen Harmon, Katheryn Myers, Angel Early, Rodney and Louise Bowers and very special friends, Elsie Smith and Elaine Dolan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: William R. Carter, Sr. and her parents:

George Edward Hutton and Zetta Solomon Hutton.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Jim Fain and Rev. Richard Long officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Carter, Clifton Carter, Seaton Carter, Carter Barfield, Ian Campbell and Cary Carter.
