She was retired employee of the Bell System. Mrs. Smith attended First Church of God, where she was an active member, being involved in many activities of the church.
Survivors include a daughter: Betty Sue Hartman; a son and daughter-in-law: Ralph and Sherry Smith;
grandchildren: Lisa Frankewich, Jeffrey Smith, Kristie Hensley, Jeff Moffitt and Melissa Dalton; eleven great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a special aunt: Edith Waldrop; two special nieces: Rebecca Cutshaw and Gayle Laws.
She was the daughter of the late Otis and Lydia Chandley and was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Smith; a sister, Jerlee Ottinger; a son-in-law, Gene Hartman.
The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday at First Church of God with Rev. Darrell Sovine and Pastor Nathan Leasure officiating. The body will remain at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home until time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes preceding the service.
Interment will follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Smith, Darren Smith, Nathan Hensley, Scottie Crawford, Walter Frankewich
and Jim Morrell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of First Church of God, Dr. Robert Mosca and staff of Greeneville Internal Medicine, and the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice.
