Ella Mae “Ellie” (Mattingly) Hoke-Ostien, 89, passed away at her residence on November 30, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Ellie was born in Indianapolis on October 23, 1929, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Christine (Rhodes) Mattingly.
Mrs. Ostien was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Greencastle. She worked for 12 years as a Group Leader at Motorola in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ellie had a great love of flowers and birds, and was a very creative person.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Tom Ostien; her four children, Terry Hoke, (wife-Rindy), Farmington, Minnesota, Linda Emmert, Columbus, Danielle S. Hoke, (husband-Stora), Indianapolis, and Ken Hoke, Pompano Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Ryan Lynette, Jenaye, Charissa, Adalie, Chelsea, and Courtney; twelve Great Grandchildren, Skyler, MacKenzie, Mason, Colton, Riley, Hailey, Adalyn, Briella, Ethan, Breanna, Kira, and Taylor; her best friend, Mary Tesmer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death her parents; her first husband, Roy Hoke; three brothers, Taylor, James Roy, and Ed Mattingly; three sisters, Katie Lowry, Lola Ann Watts, and Margaret Duvall.
Per her family’s wishes cremation will take place at a later date.
