Dr. Charles Raymond Underwood III

Dr. Charles Raymond Underwood III of Indian Lake Estates, Florida passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 2, 1951 in Fort Lauderdale and came to Lake Wales in 1981. He was a member of the Iota Beta Gamma Biology Fraternity and earned his Doctorate of Philosophy from Virginia Tech, Master of Science from Virginia Tech, attended Lynchburg and transferred to the University of Florida for this B.A. of Agriculture and Certificate in Associate Arts from the University of Florida. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 242 in Lake Wales, associate member of the Indian Lake Estates Methodist Church, a member of the Disciples of Christ’s Church in Fort Lauderdale, American Birding Association, Nature Conservancy and the N.R.A. He was the guest service manager at Animal Kingdom and worked for Walt Disney World for 27 years. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Charles Raymond Underwood, Jr. Survivors include his mother, Betty K. Underwood of Indian Lake Estates and his cousins, Phyllis & John Wagner of Greenwood, IN, John Kocher of Nashville, IN and Mark & Donna Kocher of Indianapolis, IN. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Indian Lake Estates United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Knitter officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Masonic Lodge.
