Sarah Alice Ross, 98, of Greeley, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. Sarah was born on October 17, 1916 in Wilkes County, North Carolina to Jesse and Cora (Burcham) Darnell.
Sarah worked at JCPenney’s in the shoe department for 18 years. Sarah and Doyle met in 1945 and moved to Greeley in 1983. She was a member of Baptist churches all of her life.
Sarah enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress. She loved to sing with her church. She also enjoyed making cream chicken on biscuits.
Sarah is survived by daughter, Beverly (Don) Bradley; son, Landon (Mary Lou) Ross; sister, Rachel (Walter) Halcomb; three grandchildren, Michael and Sheila Bradley and Darrel Ross and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Delano G. Ross, three sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Faith Bible Baptist. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
