Richard Dale Kuhlman, 72, of Loveland, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2014 in Loveland, CO. Richard was born July 23, 1941 in Mitchell, NE to Alexander and Irene (Ditter) Kuhlman. He grew up in the Gering, NE area and graduated from Gering High School in 1958. Richard married Linda Joanne Miller on September 2, 1962 in Scottsbluff, NE. He worked as an accountant his entire career, first at Lockwood Corporation in Gering, NE and then Forney Industries in Fort Collins, CO where he retired. Richard was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith. He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Gering where he and his wife were founding members. He was very active in his church where he was an elder and taught confirmation classes and Sunday school. Richard was a leader in Gering Youth Baseball, coaching and umpiring for numerous years. Richard played fast pitch softball, enjoyed bowling, and loved all sports. Richard loved attending his children’s sporting events and spending time with his grandchildren; they were the highlight of his life. Richard was a soft and gentle soul. He was a devout Christian, a very honest and ethical man, and an incredibly devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Richard is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda; son Jeff Kuhlman, his wife Cari and their sons Carter and Drew of Aspen, CO; daughter Dr. Lori Hennis, her husband Ron, and their daughter Adria of Windsor, CO; and daughter Shelly Jackson and her son Jeremy of Aurora, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27 4-6pm at Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday, February 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4650 Sunview Drive, Loveland.
