Raul M. Alaniz Sr.

Raul M. Alaniz, Sr. of Greeley passed away on March 20, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones at Northern Colorado Medical Center. On August 22, 1956, Raul was born in Eagle Pass, Texas to Antero Alaniz Sr. and Beatriz Martinez Alaniz. He moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1976, where he raised his family.

Raul loved working on cars, and could do any of it, including mechanics, autobody, and upholstery. Raul was also a musician, and played bajo Quinto, accordion, and the drums. Some of his favorite times were going to Lowrider car shows and spending time joking with his family and friends.

Raul is survived by his wife Maria T. Alaniz; children Veronica (Doug) Witman, Freddie (Vanessa) Alaniz, Jaime (Ivette) Alaniz, Laura (Francisco) Torres, Lourdes (Everado) Cisneros, Veronica (Elidio) Madera, Hector; Siblings Ernestina Alaniz, Oscar Alaniz Sr, Edward Alaniz and Robert Alaniz; Grandchildren Celestino, Andrew, Domonique, Maribel, Alexis, Amos, Matthew, Crystal, Ezequiel, Anahi, Evangelina, Bryana, Estrella, Doug Jr, Melody, Erik, Oscar III, Jasmine, Soraya, Jessica, Yalena, Francisco, Isaias, TJ, Maria, Elias and Jayla.

Raul was preceded in death by his parents Antero and Beatriz Alaniz, siblings Olga Rivas, Antero & Jose Carlos Alaniz and children Irma Linda and Raul Alaniz Jr.

Visitation and Recitation of the Rosary will be from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Stoddard Funeral Home. 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, Colorado. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 915 12th St, Greeley, Colorado, followed by Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
