Pete grew up in Greeley, graduating from Greeley High School in 1954. After graduation, Pete entered the U.S. Air Force. After he was honorably discharged, he returned to Greeley. Pete worked various jobs until he got his job at Monfort of Colorado Packing Plant where he worked for 19 years as a shop steward. He then worked for over 20 years with Hensel-Phelps Construction Company. He attended Aims Community College, where he received a “Who’s Who” certificate.
Pete married Yvonne Ruybal in Greeley. They were married for 25 years, but later divorced.
Pete would help many people in need with clothing and money. He was a hard worker all of his life and could fix almost anything. He was an avid reader and closely followed world events and politics. He volunteered for many years during elections. He enjoyed having tea in the afternoons. He loved time with his family and his dogs and cats, especially his cat, Toby.
Pete is survived by his daughters, Brenda Bartz (Vaughn) and Yvette Magdelano both of Greeley; sons, Frank and Pete Magdelano both of Greeley; brothers, George Magdelano of Pierce and Michael Magdelano (Sherri) of Greeley; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Leticia Magdelano.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
