He was born June 16, 1932 to Jesus Espinoza and Nestora Chavez in Denver, Colorado. Paul grew up in Milliken, Colorado and attended Milliken High School where he finished his education. Throughout his life, Paul worked hard doing farm work in Berthoud and Milliken. He also worked at a factory in Kansas City, Kansas as a machine operator where he worked for 32 years at Certain-Teed. Paul served in the United States Army from July 31, 1950 to April 13, 1956 during the Korean War.
Paul was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Loveland, Colorado as well as St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. All the way up until Paul passed, he was a significant member of the VA all over Northern Colorado.
On March 1, 1975 Paul married his wife, Georgia Espinoza, in Miami, Oklahoma. Together, they had a beautiful life. Paul enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis Presley or anything from the 50's. He also loved gardening and drinking coffee. Paul worked around the house doing projects whenever he could and enjoyed remodeling with Georgia. In his later years, Paul found himself watching the news everyday.
Paul is survived by his wife, Georgia Espinoza; daughter, Shanda (Brian) Metz; son, Paul Jr. (Adrienne Bochert) Espinoza; sister, Rita Valdez; brothers, Robert Espinoza and Joe Espinoza; and his grandchildren, Paul Espinoza III, Alex Espinoza, Tanisha LeDoux, Ayden Espinoza, Mason Espinoza, Landen Matzdorff, and Kane Metz. He is also survived by his step-son's (Dennis Mitchell) children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Nestora; brothers, Louis, David and George Espinoza; sister, Berlin Martinez; and his step-son, Dennis Mitchell.
A Recitation of the Rosary for Paul will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, Colorado 80634, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Please join the family for a reception after the Celebration of Life.
