Naomi Dyer of Eaton died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
She was born on September 26, 1930 to John H. and Mary (Roth) Walter in Merino, Colorado. The Walter family moved to the Greeley area when she was young. She attended La Grange School north of Greeley. After her schooling, she helped on the family farm.
She married Grady Dyer on November 28, 1948 at Galeton Baptist Church. After marriage, they farmed in Weld County and then Galeton. They have lived in the Galeton area for over 50 years.
Naomi was a member of Two Rivers Fellowship in Greeley and recently had been attending Galeton Community Church.
Family was very important to Naomi and she especially loved her grandchildren. She loved to cook and compiled a cookbook. She loved to tell jokes and enjoyed a good laugh with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and piano. She played piano for church for several years.
Naomi is survived by her husband Grady; her daughter Cheryl Bishop (Gary) of Eaton; her son Cal Dyer (Cindy) of Julesburg; three grandsons Chad Dyer of La Salle, Clint Dyer of Julesburg and Tim Kerns of Greeley; two great-grandchildren; three sisters Betty Detterer (Henry) of Windsor, Edna Mae Nelson of Kearney, Nebraska, and Judy Boker of Greeley; a brother Harry Walter (Heidi) of Gilcrest.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Carolyn Kerns.
Celebration Of Life 2 p.m. Saturday at Galeton Community Church.
