Very sorry I'm so late in posting this message. I'm sort of coming down the homestretch of my life now and looking on the internet for any little tidbits and fond memories when I came across Louie's obituary.  I served with Louie in Co "C" 5th Med Bn at Fort Carson in the 60s. It was our tradition for newcomers in the unit to be adopted by the senior guys. Louie adopted me as his "rookie". It entailed stuff like a trip to the vending machine or finding a can of shoe polish. All harmless fun. I remember a time when I was ironing a shirt for Louie. I wasn't paying attention and I scorched it. I thought, "oh boy, he's going to kill me". He grabbed me by the back of the neck and starting laughing and said he never liked that shirt anyway. Louie was a man of few words but when he talked everybody listened. He was  a big guy and commanded tremendous respect from his fellow soldiers.  Louie was the guy you wanted in your foxhole when things went haywire. He was one of my best Army friends and will always remember him warmly.

Nancy ; I was in Louie's class, at Stringtown  school  ,before he came to Colorado , a long time ago . Louie was the guy , who would sometimes get me into trouble , but of course , I did it willingly .  We both liked to throw acorns , and there were plenty of them '; but it seemed like , I was the one , who would miss my target  ,and hit a window . And , once in a while , he would hit a window , too .  I think , he and I occupied the classroom ,at lunch , and recess times ;  for getting into trouble more than any of the other , 45 ' boys at that school .lol'.
 .That was usually our punishment .

Hope ' you didn't mind my little  story , but he was my friend , back then.

I knew Louie in high school and had the pleasure of working with him when I worked in several auto parts stores in Greeley.  When I moved to the Denver area, I remained a customer of Louie's shop because I knew he would always do a thorough job and could be trusted explicitly.  I will miss him.  My deepest sympathy to his wife Nancy and all his family and friends.

There was something magic about Louie's ability to do tough alignment work. In 1978 I had a Ford Bronco that refused to be aligned--ate tires like crazy.  I took it all over northern Colorado and Denver but never could get it fixed.  Then I heard about Louie. He did the impossible and I never had trouble again.  I always trusted Louie with pretty much any problem no one else could deal with.  He was always honest with me and did the job right.  I considered him a friend and will always miss him.  My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all his family. He was an awesome man, mechanic and father.
