Larry attended Jefferson Elementary School and Meeker Junior High School. On December 17, 1966, he married Nellie Gonzales at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley.
Larry worked at Monfort Packing Plant for eight years and then was a Masonry Contractor (Bricklayer) for 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greeley.
First and foremost, Larry was a family man. He spent over half his years on earth with his soulmate and "the love of his life", Mary Helen. He enjoyed fishing, photography and camping. He especially loved family camping vacations at Lake Powell, Utah. He liked preparing and caring for his garden. Each year he would refine and improve his methods. With only an 8th grade education, hard work, a love of history and a thirst for knowledge, he attained a successful career and business ownership. His father taught him the Art of Masonry. He took pride in his workmanship. Alongside his father and brothers, Larry built many structures and dwellings, locally and regionally. He was co-owner of Gomez Masonry, a family owned business.
Larry is survived by his wife, Nellie; daughters, Lucille Trevino (Steve) of Ogden, Utah, Detri Vigil (Joseph) of Thornton, Colorado, Jennifer Gomez-Silva (Patrick) of Greeley and Maria Elena Amaya (Dino) of Greeley; sisters, Dolores Gonzales, Gloria Duran, Lucille Ybarra, Teresa Gomez and Marlene Garcia; brothers, David Gomez, Steve Gomez and Frank Gomez; grandchildren, Monica Trevino, Larry T. Gomez, Nastassja Trujillo, Steve Trevino, Andrew and Joseph Trevino, Elijah Silva, Simona Silva, Rachel Amaya and Brandon Amaya and 18 great-grandchildren.
