Kelly Suzanne Harper, 52, of Eaton transitioned to her heavenly home on October 7, 2015, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Kelly was born February 5, 1963 in Los Angeles, CA, to William and Jane Harper.
Kelly spent most of her adolescence and young adulthood in the Ashland/Medford Oregon area and she graduated from Ashland High School in 1981. In 1992 Kelly married Rocky Peeler and had two beautiful girls, Rochelle and Corrie. During her young adulthood she was proud to have always served people as an EMT, pharmacy tech, and in-home caregiver.
Kelly moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2001 and in 2003 she met her soulmate and life partner, Laurie Carlson. Kelly and Laurie made their life together living in Eaton, CO where they enjoyed the many community activities and watching all of the activity in the park from their front porch. In 2009 Kelly received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies (Gerontology) from Colorado State University. Kelly started her own business (Kelly’s Memory Trains, Planes, and Automobiles) and one of her greatest joys came from sharing her model train shows with residents at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jane (Carlson) Harper, and a brother Michael Harper. She is survived by her life partner, Laurie Carlson of Eaton; daughters Rochelle Peeler of Fort Collins and Corrie Peeler of Eaton; Sisters Jan Frederick of Vacaville, CA and Luanne (Jim) Hodson of Roswell, NM. She is also survived by Laurie’s family: mother Charmian (and the late Gordon Carlson), and her siblings John E. Carlson, McLeod, ND, Bonita (Martin) Coates, and their children Dakota and Bethany, Painted Post, NY, Duane (Ellie) Carlson, and their children Charlene and Brady, McLeod, ND. She is also survived by many dear friends, nieces, and nephews.
A life celebration for Kelly will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Danforth Chapel on the Colorado State University campus. The chapel is located at the north entrance of the oval.
Kelly’s family plans to establish a memorial scholarship fund in her name at a later date. Friends may view the online obituary and send condolences at www.allnutt.com.
