He attended Eaton Schools and graduated from Eaton High school in 1953.
Jack enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954. He attended boot camp in San Diego, CA. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Lewis DE535 right out of boot camp. Shortly before he was discharged in January of 1958, he was transferred to the U.S.S. Twining DD540.
After his discharge, he resided in Eaton. He was employed at his family’s farm and feedlots. He also bought and sold livestock and was a wool buyer for Summit Wool Co. out of New Chelmsford, MA.
He married Dorothy Nagel in June of 1962 at the First Methodist Church in Cheyenne, WY.
He later married Shirley Flot in February of 1976. They made their home in Greeley, CO.
Jack and Shirley bought houses and apartments in Greeley to remodel for rental properties.
Jack loved the Colorado Rocky Mountains, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and gathering with family. He was a devoted Broncos fan and watched all football games. He and Shirley always enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies.
He became a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church when he was baptized in Estes Park at St. Bartholamew Church by Father King.
He attended numerous U.S.S. Lewis ship reunions where he loved to reminisce with old shipmates and later kept in contact with many of them.
Jack was a beautiful soul who enjoyed spending time with people and because of his friendly personality he never knew a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dixie Joann Clarkson and Patricia Ann Hause; brothers-in-law, Dale Clarkson and Jo Hause; sister-in-law, Ruth Allison.
Survived by his loving wife, Shirley. Brother Bob Allison, of Greeley, and sister Pam (Wayne) Roitsch, of New Braunfels, Tx. Two children, Linda (Bill) Scott and James Flot (Jorgi MacNamara). Five grandchild, Anthony Scott; Kelly (Todd) Scott Raisley; Jimmy Scott; Joseph (Kenzie) Flot; Jared Flot (Kelsey Stearns). Five great-grandchildren Bri Scott, Stella and Grace Raisley; Calvin and Campbell Flot. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 followed by Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
