Joe was the fourth born of 18 siblings and is survived by seven of those siblings. Joe met Donna Nicholson in 1958 and they were married on November 15, 1960 in Lamar. Joe worked at the Craig Locker Plant in Lamar until June of 1962, when he was offered a job with Monfort Portion Foods in Greeley, Colorado. Joe, Donna, and their infant son Joseph moved to Greeley in July of 1962. Joe worked for Monfort Portion’s until Feb of 1990 when he started the Monfort lamb division, an expansion of Monfort. He worked for Monfort lamb division until Aug of 1996 when it was sold to Rosen of Colorado. He continued to work for Rosen until Nov of 2003.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his wife Donna and their four children. Together they supported their children through many years of cub scouts and sports. Joe was very active and enjoyed bowling, softball, shooting league pool, and working on cars.
Joe was a beloved and devoted father, brother, grandfather, and a good friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Jolene Klein; sons, Joseph Ybarra, Jack Ybarra, and Jason (Marcy) Ybarra; sisters, Rosie Campos, Margaret Longoria; brothers, Frank Ybarra, Robert Ybarra, Raymond Ybarra, Anthony Ybarra, and James Ybarra; grandchildren, Melinda Peterson, Rachelle Peterson, Nathan Klein, Nicholas Klein, Barbara Klein, Jadyn Ybarra, and Jaron Ybarra; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Addalie, and Brock; and too many other family members to list.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna B. Ybarra; mother, Margaret Ybarra; father, Frank Ybarra; sisters, Virginia Riley, Mercy Ybarra, Delores Granados, Mercedes Enciso, and Toni Richardet; and brothers, Albert Ybarra, Bill Ybarra, Fred Ybarra, and Richard Ybarra.
Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
