Jean Howard

Jean Howard, age 88 died December 6, 2016, at her home of 48 years, in Greeley, CO. Born August 23, 1928 in York NE; the fifth in line of six children born to the late William and Cordelia Hurley. Jean attended Kearney State College in Kearney, NE where she met Riley E. Howard. September 11, 1948 they married and later had three children; Jim, Claudia (McFate) and Cathy (Lockhart).

A devoted, strong independent woman; an advocate for hard work and integrity shown evident in all she pursued. Jean worked for State Farm Insurance for 27 years, yet her true passion was finding antique furniture and refinishing it with her husband. She was always up on current events and loved her conversations with friends. While Jean use to be an avid bridge player, most recently took to beating her children and grandchildren at gin rummy.

Jean is survived by 3 children; grandchildren, Jonathon McFate (North Carolina), Sara and Riley Howard (Denver), Molly Lockhart (Grand Junction) and great grandchildren; Lexie, Charlie and Arlo.
