Jane E. Gustafson was born in LaSalle, Colorado on December 7, 1941, to Ruben and Feliscita Lujan Gonzales. Jane attended schools in both LaSalle and Evans. She married Arthur Salazar and then later divorced. She then married Don Gustafson.
Jane worked for McMahan’s Restaurant, The Holiday Inn, Seerys Self Serve Gas Station, Burris Company, and Hewlett Packard, from where she retired after 20 years.
Jane loved to be involved in local organizations, including her neighborhood watch programs, Arlington Neighborhood Watch of Greeley and Willowbrook Neighborhood Watch of Evans, where she had the opportunity to meet and interact with many City, County, and other officials, while at the same time making many special friends. She was also a food supplies coordinator for the Greeley Room at the Inn homeless shelter.
Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Randy Mahaffey of Evans; son and daughter-in-law, Art Salazar and Micaela Fontaninni of Eaton; son, James Salazar of Loveland; son and daughter-in-law, William and Rachel Salazar of Henderson; sister, Molly Aragon of LaSalle; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Romona Gonzales of Henderson, Texas; little sister and niece, Ruby Aragon of Greeley; godparents, Ralph and Della Solano of Denver; uncle and aunt, Albert and Alberta Martinez of Brighton; very special friends, John, Laura and Cody Burfiend and David and Melisa Dalton; grandchildren, Lindsey and David Cerullo, Cari and Aaron Wait, Desiree and Julio Alvarado, Audrey and Chris Hettinger, Chelsey Salazar, Mariya Rocha, Randall Mahaffey, James Salazar II, Robbie Salazar, T.C. Salazar, Alec Salazar, Marcus Mahaffey and Bentley Schulz; great-grandchildren, Haven, Jedah, Samara, Vidal, Julio, Nevah, Cameron, Bennett, Chris and Anthoney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
