Irene was born in Sterling, CO on Dec. 13th, 1950, to Philip III and Irene Zink. Most affectionately known as Renie, she had many hobbies. Her favorite pastime was reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandchild. She loved God greatly and read scripture daily. She unconditionally loved her husband Moe and her children Troy and Tonja. She was deeply involved in her grandchildren’s lives and would frequently whisk them away on weekend getaways and could be found attending their many sporting events. Her competitive nature kept her involved in many games including checkers, poker, pitch, and solitaire. Her passion was designing and drawing clothes, perfecting calligraphy, and was a jewelry aficionado. She will be greatly missed, not only by her family and loved ones, but by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Irene is survived by husband; Morris Koehler, Children; Troy Koehler (Diana), Tonja Pitt (Kelly), Grandchildren; Dominic Bell (Shaena), Brandon Koehler (Ashleigh), Devin Bell (Suzie), Ryan Koehler, Faith Bell, and special friend Sean, Great-grandchilden: Darius Bell, Siblings; Philip (Sonny) Zink IV, Linda Mari (Frank), Diana Loos (Tom).
Irene is preceded in death by both of her parents, parent-in-laws (Clarence and Marguerite), sister Patty, sister Loretta, and sisters-in-law Janice Lechman, Charlotte Gaynor, Kathy Taylor, Peggy Zink, and brother-in-law Ray Herzog.
A Service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14th: 10:00 am Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Sterling, CO. Reception, and luncheon to be held immediately following Mass at Hagus Hall. Private Internment to be held at Fort Logan Cemetery.
