

Henry grew up in Gill, where his family farmed. He graduated from Galeton High School in 1938, then farmed with his father until entering the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in the South Pacific during World War II with the 451st Amphibious Truck Company. He was honorably discharged Dec. 12, 1945. He returned to Colorado and continued farming in Weld County for 20 years and then worked for University of Northern Colorado, where he was a building service supervisor, until retiring in 1985.
Henry married Eleanora Lucille Sitzman on March 22, 1946, in Greeley. She died Sept. 25, 1999.
Henry enjoyed traveling, fishing, growing roses, playing pool, crossword puzzles, watching dog races and singing. He loved sports, especially baseball and football. Above all, he enjoyed the time spent with his family.
Henry is survived by his three daughters Connie Vohs of Eaton, Pam Legette of Greeley and Sheila Rogakis of Greeley; two sons Henry Giesick (Ann) of Eaton and Rodger Giesick (Melanie) of Greeley; two Sisters Pauline Painter of Bullhead City, Arizona and Mary Parret (Tom) of Los Angeles, California; 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded by a three sisters Freda Tegtman, Helen Ramsey and Lily Booe and three brothers Ruben, Robert and Rheinhold ”Randy”.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2017, Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017, Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
