Beth was born on July 2, 1922 in Erie, Colorado to David Wilburn and Ruth Pearl (Layne) Stephens. She grew up as a coal miner’s daughter in Erie. After high school, she worked as a telephone operator at Mountain Bell telephone company in Longmont. Beth was soon promoted to supervisor and trained other operators all over the state of Colorado.
On January 25, 1948 she married Theodore (Ted) Webber. They were married 58 years.Ted and Beth moved to their home near Mead in 1952 and raised 4 children. Beth was a busy farmwife. She helped with many chores on the farm. She raised chickens, sold eggs, gardened, and always had home cooked meals ready for her family. As her family grew up she went to work as a cook at Mead school and later worked on circuit boards at a small tech. company in Frederick.
Beth is survived by her children, Lynda Coonrod, Frederick, Virginia “Ginger” (Edward) Letterly, Broomfield, John (Susan) Webber, Fowler, Carla (George) Mussell, Brush. Her grandchildren, Jamie (Ty) Turner, Mead, Sara (Heath) Spencer, Eaton, Jennifer Popadak, Denver, Matthew (Nicole) Webber, Severence, Joshua Letterly, Broomfield, Samuel Mussell, Sunnyvale, Ca. Katherine (Sam) Tregillus, Longmont, Step grandchildren, Brad Letterly, Denver, Jenny (Jason) Streifel, Denver, Craig Letterly, Denver. She has 2 great grandchildren, Brittany (Sasha Herriott) Steele, Longmont, Jorden Steele, Firestone, and 1 great, great, grandchild, Benjamin Herriott, Longmont. She is also survived by 7 step great grandchildren, and 7 step great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Ted, her parents, 2 brothers, Ethan (Bud) Stephens, Robert Stephens, 3 sisters, Carrie Helfer, Ilene Stephens, Kathleen Stephens. One son-in-law, Roger Coonrod.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was a 4-H leader and she had many hobbies. She was an avid reader, and loved working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She delighted in her children and grandchildren. Beth loved animals and in later years always seemed to have a little dog in her lap. Her last little dog was her beloved Tigger. Beth had many close friends, (young and old) that cherished her as much as she did them.
A viewing will be held at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St. Greeley, Co. from 9:00 -11:00. The service begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by graveside services at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley and a luncheon at Stoddards afterwards.
