Trudy ...
I just read of Don's passing and it has taken my breath away!  I am so sorry! You and he always had so much fun together and there was always a huge smile on your face when you were together.  I know that you will have many, many happy memories to think about in those sad times ahead ... my heart goes out to you!

Trudy, what can I say ?  I will miss that son of a gun because he always would say ""hi"" or something but he always took the time to say hello.  I liked his demeanor because it was real & not phoney, like alot of guys, that we both know ?  I think that is really cool, on how much he cared for you & did nice things for you.  The ""Island"" wont be the same without him.  I will miss that because I am getting old & I miss ""little"" things like that from people.  Dont be a stranger because we ""all"" want to see you, out & about.  God make your burden, only as much as you can handle.  Take care, BobG.....

We were so sad to hear about Don.  Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Trudy and Nick, I am so sorry for your loss.  In all the years as a contractor for the Forest Service, Don was absolutely the best ""boss"" (for lack of a better word) of all contracting companies I worked for.  He ALWAYS had your back, and I will never forget the monthly cakes and yearly Christmas parties he organized for the contractors.  They were soooooooo appreciated.  He was sorely missed when he retired.  I never had another contracting ""boss"" that came close to doing what he did for his contractors.  As a person, he made me laugh with his quirky jokes and unique stories.  I wish I would have had the opportunity to interact with him outside of work as I always enjoyed his childlike spirit!  As you both know, he is a great loss to this world, and will be missed by all who knew him.

In my 45+ years Don was my favorite ""Boss"" even though I know he would not like the use of the word. He reminded me of my Grandfather who was a man of few words, but when he spoke if you weren't listening you missed a lot. Don danced at our wedding (exactly 7 years ago yesterday) and after hearing of his passing I immediately played the CD so to see him as we remember him, so full of life and fun, kicking up his heels with Trudy in his shorts, just made us laugh. We loved to hear his racing stories and found that I was actually at the El Paso track when he was racing so many years ago, small world. I am quite sure he is now ""re-adjusting"" the golf schedule, as well as the ""rules"", making things even better where he is as always. As for those he leaves behind, he would want us to accept that he is in a much better place and continue as usual. For the family we wish you peace and comfort in knowing he  made quite an impact during his time here. That is what it is all about.

Trudy, I send my best to you and family during this time of such tragic loss. Don was a very vibrant individual. May you find the strength in the love and memories.
