Milton Leonard, Jr. of Trophy Club, Texas passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023. Milton Jr. was born to Milton and Mary Elizabeth Leonard on March 26, 1930. He grew up in Martinsville, Virginia; High Point, North Carolina; Bristol, Tennessee and Greensboro, North Carolina. He graduated from Greensboro Senior High School.
Milton graduated from the University of Richmond where he met his future wife Margarget Lacy. Margaret and Milton were married on February 3, 1951. They had two children-Milton Leonard III of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Elizabeth Mastropiero of Silver Lakes Ranch, Texas.
Milton served in the U.S. Navy from June 1952 to September 1954 where he was Executive Officer of the USS PCER 856. He also served in the Tennessee State Guard during his last 2 years of high school. Milton enjoyed a 40 year sales and marketing career with IBM. He was one of the first marketing employees to be trained in programming the early commercially available computers. In early 1955 he was responsible for installing one of the first computers delivered by IBM to the Naval Aviation Supply Office in Philadelphia. He held a number of different jobs in IBM including branch manager of Trenton New Jersey, Western Regional Manager of the Manufacturing Systems Products Marketing Unit (industrial computers and robots) and an assignment in Munich Germany. The Munichg assignment gave Milton and Margaret an opportunity to enjoy exploring Europe.
Milton had many interests including golfing, sailing, and sailboat racing. He was an active member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of New Bern, North Carolina. He was also a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church of Trophy Club, Texas.
Milton was predeceased by his parents and sister Mary Elizabeth Hoover of Williamsburg, Virginia and Margaret, his wife of 68 years. He is survived by his son Milton Leonard III and his wife Karen of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, his daughter Elizabeth Mastropiero and husband Robert of Silver Lakes Ranch, Texas, his grandson Brian Mastropiero and his wife Lisa of Keller, Texas, granddaughter Kristen Steinlage and her husband Shawn of Dallas, Texas, grandson Daniel Mastropiero and wife Kate of Sunset, Texas, brother Frank Leonard of Raleigh, North Carolina, brother Tom Leonard of Hampton Roads, Virginia and 4 great- grandchildren.
