Lois Louise Hollis of Southlake, Texas passed away September 19, 2018 at the age of 100. She was born on February 16, 1918 in Ada, Oklahoma to William and Ida Scott and she lived in Oklahoma until 2002 when she moved to Houston, Texas until October 2017.
She married Floyd Eugene (Gene) Hollis on November 24, 1937 in El Reno, Oklahoma. They were married for 62 years. Her parents and five of her six siblings predeceased her. She is survived by one sister, Dorotha Robertson. Also cherishing her memory, she is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Douglas, her son, Richard Hollis and his wife, Mary Lynn, her grandson, David Douglas and his daughters, Katie Ahmad and husband Hasan, Chloe James and husband Austin, and McKenzie and Zoe Douglas; her grandson, Mark Douglas; her granddaughter, Andrea Ragsdale and husband, Tim and children, Caroline, Brooks, Reed and Cole Ragsdale; and her granddaughter, Michelle Wagner and husband, Robert and children, Jonathan, Rebekah, and Justin; nieces, Carol Chapman, Sherri Loach and Norma Terpstra; nephews, Jim Robertson III and Robert Duell.
Lois was a strong Christian and a member of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston. She was an active member of her church choirs in Oklahoma for over 60 years. She loved playing the piano and organ. She was a certified dental assistant in Oklahoma City. She and Gene were active members of the Oklahoma Airstream trailer group after they retired.
She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family and friends.
A Celebration of her Life service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Foust and Sons Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine, TX 76051. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
