Jay Dee Powers, 82, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015. SERVICES: 2pm Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Chapel. Visitation 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Jay Dee was born August 4, 1932 in Tarrant County, Texas. A lifetime resident of the area, Jay Dee proudly served his country in the United States Navy, during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed at NAS Dallas He and Nancy Brown were united in marriage on June 10, 1951 in Irving. Jay Dee was a 1956 graduate of SMU, where he received a Bachelor Degree in Marketing. He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Jay Dee was a 50 plus year member of the Estelle Masonic Lodge #582 in Euless and also of the Scottish Rite. He was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Dee Powers, Sr. SURVIVORS: His loving wife of 63 years, Nancy Powers, of Southlake; daughters and son-in-law, Sherrill and Fred Lohmann of Grapevine, Lisa Powers of Canton and Deena Powers of Southlake; sister, Peggy Ihnfeldt of Justin; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Mildred Powers of Grapevine; grandchildren, Jamie & T.J. Ferguson, Jay Green, Brittany Scullion, Natalie Scullion and Dawsyn Powers; great-grandchildren, Lana Ferguson, JJ Ferguson and Jay Dee Green; and a host of friends. A memorial donation in Jay Dee’s name may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas, 75219, Attn: Development Department, or to a charity of your choice.
