James Albert Horn

Jim joined the Air Force in November 1955 and was Honorably discharged in November 1961. While in the Air Force, Jim trained to be an Air Traffic Controller; and he continued that career with the FAA. Jim married and raised 5 beautiful daughters in Albuquerque and Fort Worth. While in Albuquerque, Jim went back to college and graduated from the University of NM with a bachelor's Degree. It was also during this time, Jim and his family gave their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ.

Jim was an avid runner and participated in many races, including 5 marathons.

Upon retirement from the FAA, Jim was hired as a contract employee to the FAA WJHTC, Atlantic City, NJ. It was here that he married Barbara in March 1996, and they enjoyed 26 1/2 wonderful years together sailing in the Chesapeake Bay and traveling the USA in a motor home as well as travels to many places around the world. Jim and Barbara moved from St. Augustine, FL, where they lived for 16 years, to Seymour, TN in 2019. It was here in TN that Jim fell in love with Southern Gospel Music and the daily radio sermons of Dr. Charles Stanley. Jim passed away peacefully at home on August 4 while in the loving care of his wife, Barbara, and Hospice

James is survived by his wife, Barbara Horn; his daughter Debra Horn (John Martinez); his daughter LaDawn Horn-Nandrasy (Bryan Nandrasy); his daughter Angela Grimmett (Brad Grimmett); his daughter Patricia Lange (David Lange); and his daughter Rebekah Gulyash (Jay Gulyash); his sister Carol A. Schaut; his grandchild Nathan Chapin, his grandchild Ryan Conway, his grandchild Morgan Conway, his grandchild Chelsea Grimmett, his grandchild Bailey Grimmett, his grandchild Aaron Lange, his grandchild Amanda Lange, his grandchild Isaiah Gulyash, his grandchild Mikaela Gulyash, his great grandchild Madison Lammons, his great grandchild Brooklyn Lammons, his great grandchild Avery Hagaman-Grimmett, his great grandchild Harley Lange and his great grandchild Ivy Lange.

A funeral service for James will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 S MAIN ST, GRAPEVINE, TX 76051. Committal service with USAF Honors at 1:00 PM, DFW National Cemetery.
