In loving memory of David Lewis Bain, beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and godfather, who peacefully departed from this life in Grapevine, Texas, on June 24, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.
David was born on May 28, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to Kenneth Edell Bain and Patricia Lee Bain. He graduated from DeSoto High School in 1987 and went on to pursue his passion for information systems, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas in Arlington. His career spanned 31 years in IT, including his last 19 years as Senior Manager of Financial Systems at PNM Resources.
In 1990, David met the love of his life, Teresa, in Arlington, Texas, and they married in December 1993. Together, they were blessed with two children, Gillian Hope Bain and Lucas Holden Bain. David cherished his role as a father above all else, actively coaching Gillian in soccer and Lucas in baseball, and being involved in their lives in every way.
David had a love for sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and other Texas teams. He converted to Catholicism in 2000 and enjoyed being a parishioner of St. Francis Catholic Church. He participated in the Dove Dads Club for Gillian and Lucas’s elementary school. He also served on the Homeowners Association board, contributing to his community.
Beyond his professional achievements and community involvement, David had diverse interests and hobbies. He enjoyed gardening, grilling, skiing (both water and snow), history, anything Star Wars, traveling, cooking, listening to music (especially 80’s rock bands), and golfing.
David was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Edell Bain also known as Deddy, and is survived by his wife, Teresa Bain; children Gillian and Lucas Bain; mother, Patricia Lee Bain; brother, Kenneth Bain and wife Nicole; sisters, Patti Fay and twin sister Debbie Bain-Rangel, nephews, nieces, many other family members and friends.
A funeral Mass to honor David's life will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, Texas, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Reception to Follow.
