Aunt Carmen, life was fuller, louder, and filled with laughter because of you. I could have never made it through college without you. One summer, I worked as a runner for the same law firm where she worked (she got me the job). It was a very hot July day, and I was moving boxes and split my pants. I told her what had happened, and she laughed and laughed. She gave me her Dillards card to go get a new pair of pants and a pink raincoat to wrap around my waist so the split wouldn't show. I tried to pay her back, but she wouldn't take it. I will miss her larger-than-life laughter, the way she said my name and called me "honey." Rest well, Aunt Carmen, and thank you for making all our lives better.

While you and I may have not had the best relationship in my young adult years, I have always had love for you for being there when my brothers and I needed you. You had the most admirable work ethic I have ever seen in my life and probably ever will see. With all the things you did for your job and for all of those wonderful dogs, you truly inspired me and many others to always put the absolute entirety of ourselves into the things that matter to us. I love you and I will never forget you. Rest well, Grandma. 

To the family i worked with Ms. Carmen for many years at Thompson & Knight, I will continue to keep her family lifted up in pray remember that the Lord is able to supply all your needs.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had reconnected with Carmen a couple of years ago on face book. I can remember growing up  she made the best burgers. And had great family reunions. So sorry prayers are with you all.

Carmen and I met as teenagers and we were instantly friends. We were so different yet much alike and had so much fun together laughing, sharing, planning our lives after high school and just being silly girls. We lost touch for years, but reconnected a few years ago and it was if we were never apart. We picked up where we left off.  As many have said, Carmen was known especially for her big giving heart. She knew I worked 7 days a week during high school, but couldn’t afford my year book, so she made copies of hers and gave to me. She sent me some of her fig jar around this past Christmas. She was all about giving ❤️ She was one of those people when you meet, you just know, you met a special special friend.  Our lives changed so much since we last saw each other many years ago, but can’t wait to see that precious face at Heaven’s Gates. 

I miss you Mom. I'm just glad that I got to speak with you on the phone one last time before I flew out to see you. Although after I got there you never got to see me we did at least get to share that last phone call. I'm very glad that I love you with the last thing I ever said to you.

I was one of Carmen's coworkers for more than 10 years. Please accept my sympathy for your loss. May God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

My sweet sweet sister,  we had so many laughs,  shared  alot of tears,  and loved each other always.  I will miss you every day... Your kind heart,  your laugh,  and your generosity. Rest well,  you earned it.  I love you. 


Tom, (for Tomboy) as we called her, at a young age was just a younger brother, just about two steps behind me, even the night she was bitten by the rattlesnake, just two steps behind. I’ve never known anyone with a heart as big, doing anything for anyone as she saw a need. No task was ever too big, even at the risk of her own health. Our family will miss her as she was a matriarch when things needed doing. Tom I love you, and I’m sorry I was not there for you, as it was all so sudden and final. Bless you sister, you will always be with us in all that we do, as a family or as individuals. A void among siblings. That big smile and hearty laugh, only you could have contributed so much to those who love you Tom.
  


I am Carmen’s ex-husband.  I am sorry to see her go. She was a Christian woman who raised three grandkids and a nephew. Since I was a better Father than husband she did this on her own. There should be a special place in her afterlife for a woman like Carmen.
