passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019. O.D. was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, on December
24, 1926, to Asie Winder and Filine Craig. He moved to Washington State during the dust storms,
then to California to live with his Mom and stepdad, Ray Creighan. He was Realtor of the Year
for three years in Orange County, California, in 1960, and owned several barbershops. O.D.
retired to Grants Pass in 1994.
He loved family, cars, dancing, and yard sales. He half raised his grandsons, working with them on restoring vintage cars. He was a kind, honest man with a sense of humor. He joined the U.S. Navy in World War II on the USS Gilmore, and later was Commander of the VFW for two years.
He married Jane Juneau and had three children. They later divorced.
O.D. was preceded in death by spouses, Dessi Harington and Terri Bourke; son, Ronald
Winder; and granddaughter, Nicole Chadwick. He is survived by his son, James Winder; daughter,
Suzanne Winder; grandsons, Ronald Chadwick, Ronny Winder and Aaron Winder; granddaughters, Christine Hazard and Michelle Hazard.
A graveside service will be held at the Wilderville Cemetery on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at 12
p.m. with a buffet gathering to follow. Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home is entrusted with
the arrangements.
