He is survived by his parents, Marlene McKell, of Mountain View, CA, and David McAuliffe, of Grants Pass, OR, and by his sister, Amanda Rafidiarimanda, of Paris, France.
Darren was born on October 14, 1987 in Sacramento, CA. He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 2005, where he played the trumpet in the marching band.
Darren was passionate about animals, especially reptiles. His dream was to open his own pet store, specializing in several species of geckos.
Darren enjoyed target shooting, working on cars, gaming and cooking. He was known for his big heart and good sense of humor.
A Celebration of life with friends and family will be held at Reinhart Volunteer Park on February 20, 2021 at 11 am.
