For over 30 years, Wayne and his wife enjoyed traveling to their winter residence in Texas in their motorhome, enjoying a warm weather break from the Michigan cold. Wayne was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, stock car/Indy 500/NASCAR races, tinkering around the house, and time relaxing at their lake property at Bass Lake. Wayne proudly served in the US Navy Reserves as a heavy equipment operator, and retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) with 32 years of faithful service, earning many safe driving awards. His friends and family will miss his sweet gentleness and quiet humor.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville.
In honor of Wayne and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
