We sorrow, but not without hope; we know that Tom is safe in the arms of Jesus in heaven forever! Tom enjoyed printing, photography, the Three Stooges and many other hobbies. He loved his family but, above all others, he loved Jesus Christ. Having accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was a child, Tom lived his life for God’s glory, and sought to lead others to Jesus. Though Tom will be missed, we know because of Jesus, this is not goodbye forever, only goodbye for now -- one day there will be a great reunion in heaven.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents George and Madeline Mitchell, and granddaughter, Rosemary Mitchell.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Emily Mitchell; children Lynelle (Jeremy) Welsh, and Caleb (Erica) Mitchell; six grandchildren; siblings Daniel (Joyce) Mitchell, and Pat Vlasman; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St., Byron Center.
