Theodore George “Ted” Wierenga, age 92, went to be with his Lord Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Wierenga and great-grandson, Joseph Theodore Garvin.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Valerie Wierenga, Doug (Anna) Wierenga, Patti (Jim) Schoettley, and Kathy (Steven) West; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Ted loved the Lord. He was a devoted husband, caregiver, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family, traveling the U.S. and telling stories of his service in the Navy.
Private family services have been held with a memorial service for family and friends to be held at a later date. Interment is at Rest Lawn Memorial Park, Grand Rapids, Michigan. In honor of Theodore and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helen DeVos Children’s Research Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project.
