Rogers, Sharon Lee 12/26/1934 - 7/3/2022 age 87 of Jenison, passed away July 3, 2022. Sharon was born in Kalamazoo, MI December 26, 1934, the second of three children.
She is preceded in death by her parents William B. and Rachel (Hoeksema) Rogers; and two nephews Randy Rogers and Robert Newell. Sharon is survived by her sister, Patricia (Jim) Newell; brother, Max (Eileen) Rogers; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and -nephews.
Sharon studied music at The Juilliard School of Music and received a masters degree in music from the University of Michigan. She was responsible for running the Blair School of Music which is part of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Upon retiring, Sharon moved to the Grand Rapids area to be close to family. Sharon’s faith was very important to her and she enjoyed attending church, reading the Bible, traveling, rug hooking and spending time with family.
The family will receive visitors at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
