Ray is survived by his wife, best friend, and love of 38 years, Lucinda “Lu”; daughters Buffy (Kevin Huizinga) Gezon, Vicki (Craig) Holmes, Jodi (Kerry) Smith; brother, Thomas (Patti) Gezon; sister, Mary (Jon) Bontekoe; grandchildren Julia (Ryan Delamar) Reigler, Rachel and David Holmes; and many dear friends and family. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Wilma Gezon; and sister-in-law, Judyth Gezon.
Ray and Lu created a life of many good memories with boating in Grand Haven, trips to the Caribbean including Mexico and Florida, great themed parties, shuffleboard at the Moose Lodge, and golfing with their family and friends. They never said “no” to having fun. Ray will be greatly missed for his "words of wisdom," knowledge of family history, love for sharing new gadgets, sharing stories growing up in Jenison, and his interest for the finer things in life. Ray valued his family and friends with his actions more than his words. He was a natural born salesman, selling tools and cars. Ray was thankful for his long life of many blessings.
The family is very grateful for the attentive and respectful care at Spectrum Butterworth the last days of his life.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2022 with visitation starting one hour prior at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville. A celebration of Ray’s life will follow at the Moose Lodge, 2630 Burlingame Ave. SW, Wyoming.
In honor of RJ and in lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s name may be made to the American Red Cross or the Humane Society of West Michigan. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
