Nancy Zuck (Morgan) Tyler, 89, passed away peacefully in her Grand Rapids, Michigan, home with family near on Friday, May 27, 2022. Born in Marion, Ohio, on October 10, 1932, her family moved to Grand Rapids in time for her to graduate from high school and attend Davenport College where she completed an associate’s degree in business. In a classic love story for the ages, she met Merrill Tyler on a blind date, and they became engaged within days of that epic encounter. They married on her 21st birthday, October 10, 1953, and spent 62 adventurous years together until his passing in April 2015.
Devotion to family served as the central focus for “Nan” and “Ty’s” life together. Knitting, cooking, keeping up with many friends (collected over years in multiple moves to different homes throughout western Michigan), and some interesting motorhome adventures provided full and rich lives to them both.
Their legacy of love, laughter, deep faith, and an occasional crankiness lives on in three generations of family left to celebrate the life of this beloved mother. Nan and Ty’s hearts always carried the dearness of several babies not able to share life on earth with them but with whom they are now reunited in life everlasting.
Nancy is survived by her beloved son, Michael (Monica) Tyler, and daughter, Linda (Thomas) Brown. Her wonderful grandchildren include Treaver (Amity) Tyler, Tracy (1975-2017) Tyler (Dennis) Worrell, Tricia (Jeremy) Worrell, Lydia Lat Brown. Great-grandchildren include Christian, Dakota, Brayden, Carolynn, Audric Tyler; Jane, Tyler Cross; Hayley (Andrew) LeMieux; Dylan, Madeline, Nevaeh Worrell; Luke, Isaac, Maria, Abigail Worrell. She is also remembered by her great-great-granddaughter Gracie Tyler and many dear nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 30 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW Grandville, MI, with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family welcomes memories and messages in their online guest book at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
