He will be remembered by his wife of 56 years, Carol (Phillips) Klomparens: children Jill Frielink, Julie (Terry) Johnson, Stacey (Mike) Crumback and Jim (Leslie) Klomparens; grandchildren Nicole (Nick), Mitchell, Jessica, Zach, Alex (Jordyn), Abby, Emma, Georgia, Katie, and Drew; great-granddaughter Alaina; siblings Ralph (Virginia) Klomparens, and Shirley McClure; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Fannie Klomparens; siblings Vernon Klomparens, Marjorie Berkenpas and Helen Klomparens.
Ken loved his country and served in the U.S. Army. He went to work and retired from Keeler Brass after 43 years. After retirement, Ken created many special memories including a trip to Alaska, summers at the lake, and fishing and golfing with friends and family. Ken enjoyed his children’s and grand-children’s sporting events. He was also a member of the Grandville Boosters. He will be dearly missed and remembered for his kind, gentle, fun loving spirit. He will always be remembered as “Smiley.”
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, Michigan. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave., S.W., Grandville. Pastor John Nauta will be officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery.
In honor of Ken and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice or Georgetown and Cambridge Manor.
