She enjoyed teaching business classes in Fostoria, Ohio and later in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nappanee, Indiana and Zeeland, Michigan.
Jane was an educator at heart, but family was everything to her. She enjoyed reading, musicals, cats, cooking, and spending summers with her family at Clear Lake, Indiana. She enjoyed playing the piano and especially attending concerts. She was actively involved in the local chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society. John and Jane attended Parkwood Presbyterian Church in Jenison.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John; their two sons Tom (Stephanie) and Jim; grandchildren Andrea and Trevor; and sister, Wendy (Dave) Malott; three nieces and one nephew Sara, Dan, Lexi, and Jen. She is preceded in death by her brother, K.C. Smith and her parents.
In honor of Jane, contributions may be made to Parkwood Presbyterian Church or the Harbor Humane Society. Arrangements are pending. Cards may be sent to John at their home address. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
